Victor replied to my letter. He assured that he loved me. Little happines rmain for us and to chase away my idle fears. There was no other woman and that he had a secret to confess. He said the secret would give me chills along with misery and terror. I could not know the secret right away. I could only be told the secret the day after our marriage. Until then, I was to not speak of it. Shortly after recieving the letter, Victor returned to Geneva. Soon after the arrival of Victor, father spoke of immediate marriage.
